Las Modernas by Trendtation

Trendtation.com , the fashion social network has just launched a new section: "Las Modernas". It's a comic strip about three unconventional friends, young and cosmopolitan. I take care of drawing them every week.

With Las Modernas apparition, a social site is featuring graphic humour as a comunication and intereaction tool a for the first time, an experience beyond reading the webcomic.

La red social de moda y tendencias Trendtation.com acaba de estrenar una nueva sección: “Las Modernas”, una tira cómica que narra las aventuras de tres amigas poco convencionales que viven al ritmo de la juventud cosmopolita y de cuyos dibujos me encargo cada semana.

Con la aparición de Las Modernas, por primera vez una utilidad social integra el humor gráfico como herramienta de comunicación e interacción con los usuarios, una experiencia que no se limita a la lectura.

Starofash tees

I'm happy to announce a collaboration with Starofash, a charming music project from Norway. The project consisted in creating Star Detective, a character which represents Starofash music. Then came the tshirt design, a limited edition version for both adults and kids. All shirts are printed on organic cotton, and with toxic free print. Mnemosyne Productions will donate all revenue from these tees to WWF.

Pimping some blogs

Amongst some other activities, lately I've been working to give a new look to some blogs. My favorite must be www.furiacontralamaquina.com , not only for how I like both its editor and content but also because I was in charge of the whole design, from header and profile illustrations to the layout and css a really exciting experience. More than a big honor.

There's another one, this time a lovely blog about cinema. For No Soy Director de Cine I designed the header and the "Hitchcocized" portrait of its editor, Víctor Escribano.

And last but not least, we have www.vamosathletic.com. A blog about Athletic de Bilbao soccer team, for which I designed the header and the mascot.

WTBcomic

I'm happy to say that I'm becoming an active member of the staff at WhatTheBlogs.com. On the one hand, the site is releasing a weekly webcomic that I have the pleasure to illustrate. See the thumbnail on the right column! On the other hand, I'm the newest editor at MusicMindware.com, a blog in Spanish, which talks about music with a didactic approach. I'm in charge of talking about graphic subjects and tutorials related to band image and promotion.
These are good news indeed, huh? :D

Illustrations for "no cowboy" music video.

No Cowboy is a cartoon videoclip made for the country rock band Dead Hoodlums, from Norway. It has been directed and animated by Ritxi Ostáriz. I made the illustrations of characters and most of the landscapes and buildings.

What the blogs!

I'm so glad to write about my work at www.whattheblogs.com.
"WhatTheBlogs!" is a new ring of blogs in Spanish with an innovative approach. Each blog will have a didactic character, where feedback between bloggers and readers is emphasized as well.

So far, there are five sites running as part of "Whattheblogs.com": "MusicMindware.com" (about music creative process), "OhMyBug.com" (about programming), "CitizenMacGuffin.com" (on movie making) and "Bubbletalking.com" (a place for debate). My work in "What The Blogs" consisted in adapting a wordpress theme to "WTB!" requirements as well as designing each logo. Soon, we'll start working on a comic strip as well so.. stay tuned!

Zwillingsgold, the Swiss Amber

Last week, it took place what was called "First-Gulp of Zwillingsgold". Zwillingsgold is a white beer carefully brewed by Sevan Kirder, frontman of Crowmen and former member of Eluveitie. Out of the Kirders' idea, I brought to life this label design, depicting the twins (zwillings, in german).



On a side note, I must point out that I had the luck to taste this wonderful beer and I must say it was a wonderful, unique experience!
